The Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS) will totally cover the costs for travelling, accommodation, food and tuition, for the 20 participants coming from the Priority Countries. These costs in detail are the following:

University tuition fee for the First Level Master Degree of the University of Florence in Agricultural Heritage Systems. You will be formally registered as a student of the University of Florence, and you will be entitled to all related benefits.

Complementary and integrated training activitiesconsisting in visiting study-stage, extra major lectures, workshops and seminars in Agricultural Heritage Systems.

Travel. The project will provide you with 1 return ticket (economy class) from the main international airport of your country to Florence, according to the Course schedule. All expenses related to the journeys from your own hometown to the airport of departure are your responsibility, and cannot be refunded.

Accomodation. During your stay in Prato, you will be lodged at the Magnolfi Guest House, located in Via Gobetti 79 (www.magnolfinuovoprato.it/en). Magnolfi Guest House is 10-minute walk away from the PIN University Campus. You will be staying in a single room, without bathroom, but on all floors are several common bathrooms. On the ground floor there is an equipped kitchen and laundry at guests’ disposal and a coffee-bar service. There is also available a wi-fi service, free of charge in the common areas. Building is provided with hot and cold air-conditioning. Deep room cleaning and the change of blankets and towels are provided weekly. Bathrobe/big towel is not included but it can be rent (at your own expense). All the spaces are accessible to disabled people. Consuming alcohol and smoking is strictly forbidden. You are expected to use all facilities, pieces of furniture and equipment with care and respect. Landline phone calls can only be received. Italian cell phone cards can be purchased locally, at your own expense.

Subsistence. During your stay in Prato, the costs for all the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) will be covered for an average amount of 25 euros per day. There’s a canteen available for lunches, from Monday to Saturday. In the ground floor of your Guest House there is an equipped kitchen at your disposal for self-cooking.

Visiting study. It is planned to spend about two weeks abroad at the end of the lessons, as a final training/experience. All the costs of the visiting study (accommodation, travel, subsistence) are covered. At the end of the visiting study you will return to Italy for a couple of days to collect your belongings before coming back to your countries.

Health insurance. Throughout the program you will be covered by medical insurance for sickness or injuries. Generally, insurance will refund your medical expenditures, limited to emergency illnesses only. Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Eye-glasses and dental care are not covered. Refund procedures can sometimes take a long time, up to three months. The University or AICS will not be liable for any delay or misunderstanding about refund for medical expenses.

VISA. You will need a student visa to attend the course: tourist or short-term VISA will not be accepted. AICS funding will cover only the cost of the VISA issue. All the other expenses related to the issue of the VISA (transport to the Consulate,…) will not be covered. Also, please make sure that your passport is valid at least until December 2020. It is possible that applying for additional student VISAs will be necessary throughout the program.

There are the following available scholarships:

  • scholarships of maximum 7.200 euros for students coming from extra European countries.
  • scholarships of maximum 4.000 euros for students coming from Italy and other European countries.

These scholarships will be assigned by the Master Committee according to the CV of the applicants. If you are interested you should mark the appropriate box at the moment of your application.

The scholarships can be used for: 1 flight ticket (roundtrip) from your country to Italy, accommodation, train tickets if you live in Italy or if you decide to rent an apartment in Florence, food. The scholarships have to follow the rules of the University of Florence.

The money will not be given to the students in advance. Students have to keep the receipts of all the expenses, give them to the office of the University, and after that they will be reimboursed. If a student decide to leave the master course without finishing it, he/she will not receive the scholarship.

Accommodations in Italy are quite expensive. We suggest you to look for a shared apartment in Prato or in the city center of Florence, which can be reached by train in 25 minutes.
